I recently had the pleasure of discovering a talented blues vocalist who was performing a few new songs by the Hawaiian based composer and producer Kevin Bird.

She absolutely blew me away with her incredible voice - from the first note she sang, I was captivated by her powerful and very soulful vocal performance that immediately transported me to another time and place.

Her name is Kateryna, hailing from the war-torn Ukraine. Her voice is rich, textured, and full of emotion, bringing every song she performs to life in a way that is both electrifying and deeply moving.

What sets Kateryna apart from other blues singers is her ability to convey a wide range of emotions through her music - capturing the essence of the blues and making it her own. Whether she's belting out an uptempo blues rock with a cool horn section (Rain) or crooning a heart-wrenching ballad (Baby Don't Cry), she infuses each song with an intensity and authenticity that is truly remarkable - impossible not to be moved by her classy interpretations and her heartfelt story telling with impeccable timing.
